7 Field Squadron RE

            I am Dave Ravey now Semi Retired, I live in South Normanton Derbyshire, with my wife Christine, who was my newly wed wife when I was posted to 7 Squadron. We lived in Harrogate, in a flat, in the same house as Johnny Greenhalgh, and his wife Glenys, Then we got a quarter at Hill Top. I had just returned from my second tour of Aden, got married and joined 7 Squadron. I was only in 7 Sqn about a year, then got Posted to Cyprus. I left the Army at the end of 22 years, luckily as a Ssgt, dont ask me how.!!!! 

             From 7 Squadron I had several juicy postings, Cyprus, JATE at Brize Norton, 66 UK Plant Squadron at Longmoor. Permanent Staff Instructor with 272 Sqn TA at Bradford, where I met Eddie Erskine again. I ended my service with 58 EOD Sqn at Lodge Hill.

           When I left the Army I commenced work with Bass Brewers at Sheffield, and ended up as National Driver Trainer for Bass Brewers, untill I took early retirement, in 2003.

           Since taking Early retirement, much of our time is taken up enjoying as many vacations as possible. So far we have visited Alaska, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and have plans to visit China and Hawiai, if the finances hold out,!! We are going ski ing this Christmass, Spending Kids Inheritance.!!!!!
